Overall aim of this chapter:unlike the previous chapter which takes a general overview, this chapter focuses on more specific and common trainee problems and specific ways of putting in measures to prevent them or remedy them when they happen. For each area of difficulty, please mention something about signs and symptoms to identify them.

- The trainee who seems uninterested/lacks motivation/fails to prepare (eg for educational activities)/takes little responsibility for self
- personality clashes: eg using transactional analysis or Karpman's Drama Triangle
